Selvaksin: State offers free influenza jabs for kids at risk

SHAH ALAM, Jan 3 — Children aged under eight with comorbidities or chronic diseases and who are from B40 families are eligible for free influenza vaccines under the Anak Selangor Vaccine Programme (Selvaksin).

The Selangor State Secretariat in a Facebook post reminded parents or guardians to refer to its list of panel clinics to set up appointments for their charges.

According to the post, children are eligible for the free influenza jabs if they:

  • Are aged eight or under

  • Have at least one comorbidity or chronic disease

  • Come from a family with a household income RM5,250 or below (B40)

  • Have lived in Selangor for at least 10 years, to be confirmed by current utility bills

Parents and guardians may register for Selvaksin with the following steps:

  • Register on the Selangkah app and upload supporting documents

  • Receive a confirmation notice before choosing an appointment date

  • Visit the chosen clinic with the child for their first dose (vaccination certificate will be up on the Selangkah app)

  • Schedule the second dose as soon as 14 days after the first dose

The Selvaksin initiative is subject to terms and conditions.
