KLANG, Jan 1 — Electricity supply to 50 residential units in Block C of Pangsapuri Seri Perantau in Port Klang has been successfully restored so far, following a disruption that began on December 7 after a fire broke out in the electrical riser room.
State executive councillor for housing and culture Datuk Borhan Aman Shah said the remaining 78 units are still undergoing restoration, with repair works actively in progress, subject to safety assessments of the building’s wiring and electrical structure.
“So far, I have been informed that 50 homes have been completed. Only 78 units remain under attention to ensure the electricity supply can be safely restored.
"We are concerned about safety issues or the risk of short circuits. Lift services have also been fully restored, and we are planning to complete everything within January,” he said after officiating the handover of Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB)’s Ceria ke Sekolah contributions today.

Meanwhile, Block C head Azizul Anuar Abu Karim expressed gratitude for the progress in restoring the electricity supply and hoped the issue would be fully resolved before Ramadan (in February).
Previously, Borhan said the Selangor State Development Corporation (PKNS) had agreed to allocate up to RM2 million to cover the cost of repairing the electricity supply disruption at the apartment complex.
PKNS, together with TNB, has also implemented corporate social responsibility initiatives, including providing assistance via Skim Baik Pulih Negeri Berkebajikan.
He said poor maintenance was identified as one of the contributing factors to the fire in Block C, which in turn affected the building’s electrical supply system and basic facilities, including lift services.
The disruption to electricity and lift services affected all 128 residential units following the incident on December 7, before repair works began.
