SHAH ALAM, Aug 19 — Efforts to resolve an issue affecting the Bukit Baja Orang Asli community for nearly 20 years have earned state executive councillor for housing and culture Datuk Borhan Aman Shah the 2025 PKNS Chairman's Special Award.
He received the recognition yesterday at the PKNS 2025 Excellent Service Awards and 2026 Jasamu Dikenang ceremony, in appreciation of his commitment and efforts in helping to find a solution to the long-standing issue.
In a Facebook post, Borhan said resolving an issue that had remained unsettled for so long would not have been possible without the determination, negotiations and cooperation of various parties.
“Resolving this long-standing issue was not the effort of any one party alone.
“Rather, it required determination, negotiations and close cooperation among PKNS, the state government, relevant agencies and the Orang Asli community until a solution could be reached,” he said.
Borhan, who is also the Tanjung Sepat assemblyman, expressed his appreciation to PKNS for the recognition and thanked all parties who worked together to help resolve the issue.
