KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 16 — The Hulu Selangor Municipal Council (MPHS) continues to strengthen service quality and the efficiency of information delivery to the public through staff participation in the Social Media Content Development and Creative Writing Workshop, organised by Media Selangor Sdn Bhd.
Its Multimedia Committee Member Nabilah Ajmal Amir Kamaludin said the exposure was highly significant, given that civil servants interact directly with the public almost every day.
“This workshop helps us to understand methods of conveying information, particularly on enforcement matters and council services, in a clearer, more engaging, and more easily understood manner for the public.
“The use of artificial intelligence (AI) serves as a support in daily tasks; however, it cannot replace the elements of empathy and human judgment in information delivery,” she told Media Selangor.
Held at the Seri Pacific Hotel yesterday, the one-day workshop aimed to enhance the digital communication skills of local authority staff so that information delivered to residents would be more effective, well-structured, and impactful.
Meanwhile, the council's Multimedia Committee Member Mohd Shahril Hasanudin said that social media management has become an essential skill that must be learned in a structured manner under the guidance of experienced practitioners.
“It is not something that can be done independently without proper knowledge and guidance. Effective social media management conveys information concisely, clearly, and accurately to the public.
“The rapid development of social media also requires every generation of civil servants to continue learning new things so as not to be left behind and to ensure their skills remain relevant amid current technological changes,” he said.
Separately, MPHS Head of Corporate Division Junainah Abdullah said the workshop was organised to strengthen staff capabilities in media management and creative writing, particularly involving the use of new technologies such as AI.
She is confident that Media Selangor's expertise and extensive experience can be fully leveraged to help the council improve service quality and information delivery, ultimately providing the best benefits to Hulu Selangor's residents.
