KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 16 — Media Selangor Sdn Bhd’s Social Media Content Preparation and Creative Writing Workshop is seen to be able to help local authorities improve their quality of information delivery and communication with residents via digital platform.
Media Selangor senior editor Khairulnizam Bakeri said social media has become an important medium and should be fully utilised to ensure information is delivered more effectively and is trusted by the people.
“The Hulu Selangor Municipal Council (MPHS) is the first local council to join this Media Selangor workshop.
“Media Selangor’s vast experience and strategic partnerships with various stakeholders has become our added value in helping participants understand the social media landscape, especially in perception management and community trust,” he said.
Khairulnizam was met at the workshop, held at Hotel Seri Pacific here, today.

Meanwhile, MPHS Corporate Division head Junainah Abdullah said the workshop aimed to improve staffers’ skills in media management, especially in the use of new technology like artificial intelligence (AI).
“The media’s role is huge in shaping and changing residents’ perception of services rendered by the council.
“I’m confident that Media Selangor’s expertise can help MPHS improve our service quality and bring the best benefits to residents in Hulu Selangor,” she said.
The two-day workshop, which ends tomorrow, focuses on writing techniques and the production of social media content that is more strategic, creative and relevant to improve an organisation’s image and the effectiveness of its information delivery.
