SHAH ALAM, Dec 15 — The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) has issued a thunderstorm warning covering the whole of Selangor, Kuala Lumpur and Putrajaya until 1pm today.
According to MetMalaysia, several areas in Kedah, Pahang, Negeri Sembilan and Sabah are also expected to experience similar weather conditions.
The warning was issued following indications of thunderstorms with rainfall intensity exceeding 20 millimetres per hour that are occurring or are expected to occur for more than one hour.
Thunderstorm warnings are short-term advisories and are valid for a period of no more than six hours for each issuance.
The public is advised to remain vigilant, avoid outdoor activities during adverse weather conditions and comply with instructions issued by the authorities from time to time.
