SHAH ALAM, Dec 13 — The Selangor Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Department (JSPT) will step up traffic controls along several Sepang and Kuala Langat roads ahead of the Selangor International Ride event tomorrow, said Selangor police chief Dato’ Shazeli Kahar.
He said the cycling event, organised by the Selangor State Development Corporation (PKNS), has drawn the participation of 1,000 cyclists who will compete in the 88km and 25km categories.
He added that the cyclists will be flagged off and finish the race at the PKNS Sales Gallery in Cyberjaya.
“Selangor JSPT will set up controls and motorcades to ensure participants’ safety and smooth traffic,” Shazeli said in a statement.
For the 88km category, the route will snake through Persiaran Rimba Permai in Putrajaya, Pekan Dengkil, Bukit Changgang, Pekan Salak Tinggi, Jalan Jenderam and Jalan Dengkil, and will start and finish at the PKNS Sales Gallery.
For the 25km category, participants will cycle along Persiaran Cyber Valley 3, Persiaran Rimba, Persiaran Sepang, Persiaran Semarak Api, and Persiaran Multimedia, and will start and finish at the PKNS Sales Gallery.
Road users are advised to cooperate and adhere to instructions by traffic officers on duty to ensure everyone’s safety and facilitate the event.
