SHAH ALAM, Dec 10 — Cooperative organisations play an important role as strategic partners in Selangor's socio-economic development, said Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari.
He said the cooperative movement, which spans various sectors, also helps strengthen people's economic resilience.
“For example, Koperasi Serbaguna Anak-Anak Selangor Berhad (Kosas), which is not only active in the housing and financial sectors, but has also expanded into agriculture, microcredit, renewable energy, and sustainable investments.
“Congratulations to the leadership, workforce and all Kosas members for their continued commitment, enabling it to remain relevant and competitive since its establishment in 1975,” he said.
Yesterday, Amirudin attended Kosas' golden jubilee celebration and also launched the coffee table book 50 Years of Kosas, which showcases the cooperative’s journey in Selangor’s socio-economic development.
The Menteri Besar said he hopes that Kosas will continue to progress as an inclusive model cooperative and keep contributing to the well-being of the state’s residents.
