SHAH ALAM, Dec 5 — The Gombak Parliamentary constituency and the Sungai Tua state constituency have received a RM20,000 contribution via the Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB) Selangor 'Ceria ke Sekolah' programme.
Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari said the contribution is part of the agency’s corporate social responsibility initiative.
“I would like to thank TNB for this contribution; RM10,000 for Sungai Tua and another RM10,000 for Gombak. InsyaAllah (God willing), around 20,000 people in total will benefit through RM100-value vouchers.
“This is TNB’s continuous effort to foster good relations with the community, who are also its customers, rather than merely pursuing profit,” he said.
Amirudin was speaking to Media Selangor after the TNB Ceria ke Sekolah programme at the State Secretariat Building today.
He added that he hopes the contribution will help ease the financial burden of parents preparing their children for the new school term.
“We will distribute it ahead of the school reopening. Hopefully, it will help and ease their burden to some extent,” Amirudin said.
