SHAH ALAM, Nov 24 — Several areas in Shah Alam were inundated early this morning after hours of continuous rainfall, prompting local authorities to deploy personnel to monitor water levels and assist affected residents.
No casualties have been reported so far, but the public is advised to remain vigilant as rain continues to pour.
In a series of posts on X, the Shah Alam City Council (MBSA) said its Special Action Squad (Pantas) has been mobilised to several hotspots to monitor the situation, including at Sungai Damansara in Section 13 here.
"Checks found a rise in the water level. However, pumps are functioning well," it said today.
According to the council, among the areas to be affected by floods were Taman Desa Kemuning, Section 35; Kampung Budiman, Section U14; Kampung Kubu Gajah, Section U17; Giant, Section 13 ; Taman Sri Lembayung, Section 25; and Jalan Opera, Section U2.
Other locations included Persiaran Jubli Perak, Section 19; Jalan Mat Raji, Padang Jawa, Section 16; Jalan Mantap 25/126, Section 25, Jalan Sentosa 25/129, Section 25, Persiaran Budiman, Section 25; and Persiaran Perusahaan, Section 23.

The council said its personnel had also closed Jalan Batu Tiga Lama heading towards Taman Mesra, Section U1, following a rise in water levels.
MBSA advised the public to exercise caution and use alternative routes for their safety.
"Follow instructions if you are asked to relocate to the designated temporary relief centres. For any emergencies or immediate assistance related to flooding in Shah Alam, please contact the Pantas Team at 03-55105811," it said.
Meanwhile, users have also reported that some areas within Taman Tun Dr Ismail Jaya have also been inundated.
