Sahabat Aircond training centre opens opportunities for Selayang youth to master TVET

SHAH ALAM, Nov 11 — In an effort to strengthen Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET), air-conditioning maintenance company Sahabat Aircond has established the Sahabat Aircond Industrial Training Centre (PLISA) in Taman Selayang Baru.

Its managing director Muhd Nusser Said said the idea to set up PLISA was inspired after he joined an entrepreneurship class organised by the Selangor State Development Corporation (PKNS).

“The idea came about after I attended the PKNS Grow Plus class, where we learnt how to expand our business and, more importantly, how to give back to the community.

“We built PLISA in Selayang so that local youth can join us, gain experience, and eventually venture out to build their own careers,” he said.

Yesterday, Nusser received a visit from the state executive councillor for women empowerment and social welfare Anfaal Saari at Sahabat Aircond’s operations office in Taman Selayang Baru.

The working visit aimed to strengthen community economic development in line with Selangor’s well-being agenda, while positioning Selayang as a model community for 'Skilled and Competitive Youth'.

He added that they plan to attract more young people, including those working in the gig economy, to further their education at PLISA to enhance their career prospects.

PLISA trainees have the opportunity to obtain the Malaysian Skills Certificate (SKM) Level 3 before pursuing diploma-level studies at selected higher education institutions.

“So, if they want to start their own business, they can do so. If they prefer to work with us, that is also possible, and they can help us expand our services across the Klang Valley,” Nusser said.

Operating since 2018, Sahabat Aircond, registered under Platinum Jaya Solutions, offers a wide range of air-conditioning maintenance and servicing solutions.
