APAD suspends Aeroline Express Bus services from November 6 to December 5

PUTRAJAYA Nov 2 — The Land Public Transport Agency (APAD) has confirmed the suspension of the Aeroline express bus services for one month, from November 6 to December 5.

It said the suspension was enforced after Aeroline's operator Zulco Sdn Bhd was found to have misused its operating licence by picking up and dropping off passengers at unauthorised locations.

The company’s buses were also found to have been operating outside approved terminals without APAD's permission on February 3, May 21, and October 10.

"APAD emphasises that the suspension of the Operator's Licence and Vehicle Permit is in accordance with Section 27 of the Land Public Transport Act 2010, as the company failed to comply with the conditions of its licence, particularly Articles 16 and 19 of the General Terms for Express Bus Service Level Requirements," said the agency in a statement today.

APAD added that on October 21, the Licence Suspension and Cancellation Committee determined that the company was guilty of repeated violations and imposed a 30-day suspension of its operating licence.

As a result, Zulco is prohibited from operating any services under the suspended licence during this period.

"This action is aimed at ensuring passenger safety, reducing traffic congestion in urban areas, and supporting the efforts of local authorities, including (the) Kuala Lumpur City Hall and other municipal bodies, to create a more orderly, safe, and efficient urban environment," it said.

APAD also clarified that the company had been previously advised and warned to relocate its service operations to approved terminals, but had failed to comply.

Consequently, it issued three show-cause letters between March 13 and October 10 for repeated violations, with the company acknowledging its infractions in official responses.
