Sukma 2026: Darul Ehsan Aquatic Centre upgrades to be done by May

SHAH ALAM, Oct 29 — Upgrades to the Darul Ehsan Aquatic Centre, a main venue for the Selangor Malaysian Games (Sukma) 2026, are set to be completed by May.

State executive councillor for youth, sports and entrepreneurship Mohd Najwan Halimi said the eight-month process will be undertaken by Darul Ehsan Facilities Management Sdn Bhd.

“Upgrades are going well and on schedule. Meanwhile, the National Shooting Range in Subang is undergoing administrative processes including allocation management, and will be upgraded soon.

“For other sports venues, local authorities are ramping up preparations and upgrading,” he told Media Selangor.

Selangor Sukma 2026 will be held from August 15 to 24, with the Para Sukma on September 5 to 14. The opening and closing ceremonies will be held at the Sepang International Circuit and Petaling Jaya City Council (MBPJ) Stadium, respectively.

This edition of the biennial games will feature 474 events over 37 sports, including 30 core ones such as rugby and seven electives including e-sports, cricket and silambam.

Selangor’s nine districts and 12 local councils will host events statewide, except for track cycling which will be held at the National Velodrome in Nilai, Negeri Sembilan.
