PETALING JAYA, Oct 17 — The Selangor Coffee Festival (SelCof) 2025, starting today until Sunday (October 19), is expected to generate up to RM4 million in sales transactions, thus boosting the growth of the local coffee industry and providing economic spillover benefits to entrepreneurs in the state.
The event's strategic partner Mohd Adly Rizal said the inaugural festival is not merely a business platform but also an important avenue in shaping the gastronomic tourism industry ecosystem in Selangor.
“This festival not only generates income for participants but also helps coffee entrepreneurs grow their businesses while promoting their cafés and brands.
“This year, we are also welcoming international participants, which will further strengthen networking between local and global industry players. Through SelCof, locally produced coffee beans have the potential to penetrate foreign markets,” he told the press at the festival today.

Adly added that SelCof is not solely a competitive platform, but a space for sharing knowledge and experience to strengthen Malaysia’s coffee industry.
“We can learn from one another and develop our respective products. The aim is not to compete, but to build a strong and sustainable coffee community,” he said.
Alongside the sale of various local and international coffee products, SelCof also features coffee exhibitions, barista competitions, workshops, industry forums, and performances by popular artistes like Aizat Amdan, Bunga Isme, and Tam Spider.
Its highlight is the Asean Barista Championship, which will see participation from several Southeast Asian countries tomorrow and Sunday. SelCof also includes a pickleball court to encourage a healthy and active lifestyle among visitors.
Previously, when tabling the 2025 Selangor Budget in the State Legislative Assembly in November last year, Menteri Besar Dato' Seri Amirudin Shari announced a RM1 million allocation to support organising the festival — a move aimed at positioning the state as one of the key players in the regional coffee industry.
