KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 11 — The country’s top women’s doubles pair Pearly Tan-Thinaah Muralitharan continued their fine run in the Arctic Open as they stormed into the semi-finals in Vantaa, Finland, yesterday.

The second seeds took 34 minutes to send French pair Margot Lambert-Camile Pognante packing 21-11, 21-19, during their quarter-final match of the Super 500 tournament held in Vantaan Energia arena.

The 2025 World Championships runner-up will next take on either fourth seeds Hsieh Pei Shan-Hung En-Tzu of Taiwan or sixth seeds Bao Li Jing-Zhang Shu Xian from China today.

Meanwhile, men’s doubles pair Choong Hon Jian-Muhammad Haikal Nazri created an upset over Denmark’s Kim Astrup-Anderson Skaarup Rasmussen to storm into the last four yesterday.

The unseeded Malaysian pair took 39 minutes to dispose of the third seeds 23-21, 21-15 in the quarter-finals of the Super 500 tournament.

Hon Jian-Haikal will determine a slot in the final against Ben Lane-Sean Vendy, after the English duo stunned Chinese sixth seeds Chen Bo Yang-Liu Yi 21-16, 21-12.

National No.1 men’s doubles pair and top seeds Aaron Chia-Soh Wooi Yik were made to slog before emerging victorious against unseeded Taiwanese duo Liu Kuang Heng-Yang Po Han, 21-19, 19-21, 21-17.

The 2022 world champions will face Thai eighth seeds Kittinupong Kedren-Dechapol Puavaranukroh after they came from behind to pull off a shock win over fourth seeds Liang Wei Keng-Wang Chang of China 19-21, 21-14, 21-19.

But it was the end of the road for country’s professional mixed doubles pair and fifth seeds Goh Soon Huat-Shevon Lai Jemie as they went down to Thai third seeds Dechapol Puavaranukroh-Supissara Paewsampran 12-21, 14-21.
