KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 8 — The Selangor Twin Accelerator Programme 2025 has strengthened the resilience of startups and small and medium enterprises (SMEs), and increased their competitiveness in the global market.
State executive councillor for investment, trade and mobility Ng Sze Han said the initiative, which involves two main cohorts — the Selangor Retail Tech Xccelerator (Retail-X) and the Selangor Deep Tech Xcelerator (Deep-X) — focuses on innovation in retail, deep technology, and high-impact digital solutions.
“Looking at our local SMEs and startups from both cohorts on this stage, it proves how solid our … flow is, and they’re ready to grow and compete nationally and globally.
“This year, from 338 applications, only 24 of the best teams progressed as finalists, showing increasing competitiveness and quality in the startup ecosystem,” Ng said during the programme today.
Earlier, Ng presented awards to the 12 best companies in the Selangor Twin Accelerator Programme, in a ceremony during the Selangor International Business Summit (SIBS) at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre.
Two more companies received special awards during the ceremony.
Ng added that the programme helps businesses overcome various current challenges, including digital marketing cost hikes, technical integration needs, and rising customer expectations.
“This programme not only solves current challenges, but prepares participants to face the future, the shift in eras that will change the way companies understand their customers,” he said.
The Selangor Twin Accelerator Programme is a two-pronged initiative aimed at growing local startups and SMEs. It comprises Retail-X and Deep-X, and was formulated to help high-potential entrepreneurs refine their abilities for the future and grow for the global market.
