KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 5 — The Pakatan Harapan election machinery is now 80 per cent ready to face the upcoming Sabah State Election (PRN), which is expected to be held in the near future.
Parti Keadilan Rakyat vice president Dato' Seri Amirudin Shari said Harapan and its entire team have been preparing over the past four months, including refining their campaign strategies.
“We have given Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor ample time to set the election date. Once that is done, we will have the opportunity to finalise discussions with the relevant parties so that the voices of the people of Sabah can continue to be represented in Putrajaya.
“For Keadilan, our machinery is about 70 to 80 per cent ready; we just need to fine-tune our strategy and campaign narrative,” he said.
Amirudin was speaking to the press at the officiation of SMS Hulu Selangor's (Semashur) silver jubilee charity dinner at the Le Quadri Hotel last night.
He added that seat negotiations with Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) have yet to be finalised but are expected to be completed before the nomination process.
“The distribution requires a few more rounds of discussion, but is almost fully settled. I believe we can finalise it before nomination day,” he said.
The Sabah State Legislative Assembly is scheduled to be automatically dissolved on November 11 to make way for the 17th Sabah State Election.
Yesterday, local media reported that Hajiji is expected to make the official announcement of the assembly's dissolution tomorrow, following consent from the Yang di-Pertua Negeri Tun Musa Aman.
