SHAH ALAM, Oct 3 — The Selangor State Legislative Assembly will allow its members to table motions during the November 14 session to condemn the Zionist regime for its cruelty, said Speaker Lau Weng San.

He said assemblymen will be given space to submit such motions, especially if they touch on the humanitarian crisis in Gaza.

“The state assembly sitting will be held on November 14, which means we have over a month. We won’t rule out any possibility and we give assemblymen the freedom to table motions on the Zionist regime’s cruelty.

“We hope things improve by the sitting, especially in terms of the plight of Global Sumud Flotilla (GSF) activists, who are currently detained by Israel authorities.

“May all Malaysians involved in the Gaza humanitarian mission be freed safely; we pray for the best,” he said.

Lau was speaking at a press conference at Wisma DNS here today after a public hearing for updates on flood mitigation efforts in Klang.

More than 500 activists from 44 countries, including Malaysia, are part of the GSF mission. They are sailing towards Gaza as a symbol of solidarity and to break Israel’s naval siege on the enclave. The boats are carrying humanitarian aid for Palestinians being oppressed by Israel.

Most vessels in the flotilla were intercepted by Israel forces yesterday. The GSF confirmed more than 450 activists from 47 countries have been detained and moved to Ashdod port in southern Israel to be deported.
