SHAH ALAM, Sept 19 — The state government remains committed to enhancing the state's public housing agenda through the implementation of various initiatives.

Menteri Besar Dato' Seri Amirudin Shari said these include the Rumah Idaman Selangor programme, which offers quality housing equipped with basic furniture at affordable prices.

"Other initiatives include Smart Rent to help the youth with rental before they can afford their own home, as well as Dana-Sel to ease the burden of paying house deposits.

"Additionally, our Rumah Harapan and Rumah Mampu Milik (RMM) initiatives continue to be empowered to ensure more Selangor citizens can afford to purchase a comfortable home," he said in a post on X (formerly Twitter) today.

Amirudin was speaking after attending the National Affordable Housing Council meeting chaired by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim in Putrajaya yesterday.

The Menteri Besar added that the meeting serves as a vital platform to discuss key issues related to the preparation, planning, and coordination of affordable housing policies.

It is also meant for the presentation of reports on existing housing projects and outlining new measures to strengthen policies, in line with the Malaysia Madani agenda.

"InsyaAllah (God willing), through close cooperation between the Federal and state governments, the affordable housing agenda will continue to be empowered to ensure the well-being of the people of Selangor and Malaysia as a whole,” he said.
