SUBANG JAYA, Sept 11 — The Selangor Youth Community’s (SAY) Aspire programme has continued to benefit local business owners, especially micro, small and medium enterprise (MSME) owners in the state.

State executive councillor for youth, sports and entrepreneurship Mohd Najwan Halimi said that since SAY Aspire’s launch in 2018, it has produced over 150 entrepreneurs with the goal of putting Malaysian products on the global stage.

“This initiative not only provides space for local products to be known internationally, but also empowers Selangor entrepreneurs in efforts to improve their product quality and competitiveness,” he said in his speech at the 6th SAY Aspire finals at Sunway Resort Hotel here today.

Meanwhile, SAY chief executive officer Aiman Syafiq Nazri said the top 10 entrepreneurs have been given the chance to present their business ideas in the final session of the programme.

“Through SAY Aspire, entrepreneurs are not only given a platform to highlight their potential, but also important exposure on how to penetrate the export market.

“We also work closely with the Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (Matrade) to help entrepreneurs enter the international market,” Aiman said.

He added that SAY Aspire is an important foundation for young entrepreneurs to develop their products sustainably and a catalyst to produce entrepreneurs ready to compete at the global stage.

Earlier, Raja Muda of Selangor Tengku Amir Shah led the judging of 10 finalists with several other people, including Najwan.

His Highness visited each participating entrepreneur’s booth while learning about exhibited products as a sign of support and encouragement for local entrepreneurs.
