SERI KEMBANGAN, Aug 20 — The Seri Kembangan state constituency has received a RM2.94 million allocation from the Malaysian Road Records Information System (Marris) for resurfacing works on 32 roads, including the route at Taman Rekreasi BS5/28.

Its state assemblyman Wong Siew Ki said the entire project is expected to be completed by October.

The resurfacing works cover areas like University Heights, Taman Suntex, Jalan Aman, Serdang Heights, and Serdang Perdana.

She also reminded residents not to hand over money should any individual come to their homes claiming payment for road resurfacing works.

“Every year, such cases occur, with some even impersonating contractors despite no resurfacing works being carried out. They typically ask for between RM200 and RM400 as a so-called ‘road resurfacing fee’ before disappearing.

“I urge the public to reject such requests, and if faced with these individuals, record their actions using a mobile phone as evidence and a precautionary measure,” she told the press after inspecting the Taman Rekreasi BS5/28 area today.

Meanwhile, Subang Jaya City Council (MBSJ) councillor Tey Boon Kiat said the resurfacing works in the BS5/28 area began today. Utilising the Marris allocation, it is expected to be completed by October as well.

He emphasised that all contractors appointed by the local authority are not permitted to impose any additional charges on residents.

“I have received complaints that some contractors have attempted to collect money from residents. I must emphasise that such actions are not allowed.

"Residents should refuse and immediately report the matter to their respective councillors if they encounter such situations,” Tey said.
