KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 5 — Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim said the United States has reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening defence and security diplomacy across Asean.
He said this assurance was among the key matters discussed during a courtesy visit by the US Indo-Pacific Command chief Samuel J. Paparo at Perdana Putra in Putrajaya today.
Describing the meeting as a valuable platform, Anwar emphasised that it served to deepen mutual understanding and facilitate the exchange of views on a wide range of regional issues.
“This includes efforts to further enhance bilateral defence cooperation between Malaysia and the US,” Anwar posted on Facebook.
