KUALA LANGAT, June 21 — Approximately 3,357 local companies from Selangor have participated in the Selangor JobCare Roadshow Carnival, which offers high-paying job opportunities.
State executive councillor for human resources and poverty eradication V. Papparaidu said the involvement of these local companies aligns with the state government’s aim to ensure every settlement continues to thrive.
“We have over 4,000 companies taking part in this carnival, including large-scale and multinational corporations. Of that number, 3,357 are from Selangor alone because we want to make it easier for the people to find employment without having to go abroad.

“That is why we are organising this carnival extensively, in both urban and rural areas. For the record, just last year, 1,120 individuals secured jobs, and this year in Gombak and Petaling Jaya, over 300 have already been employed.
“Our target is for 10,000 individuals to gain employment, but more importantly, the state government wants to foster awareness, especially among parents, so they can see for themselves the types of jobs being offered through this carnival,” he said.
Speaking at the carnival's edition for the Kuala Langat district, Papparaidu, who is also the Banting state assemblyman, said over 4,000 job opportunities were being offered through the participation of 25 companies.
He noted that among the major companies offering high-income jobs were Aviation Sdn Bhd, Prasarana Malaysia Sdn Bhd, FGV IFFCO Sdn Bhd, Canon Opto (M) Sdn Bhd, and KL-Kepong Oleomas Sdn Bhd.
The councillor advised fresh university graduates not to be overly selective, but instead to make the most of the employment opportunities available.
“We understand that some of them may attend the carnival just to ‘test the market’ based on their qualifications. However, if there are opportunities, they should give it a try while waiting for other job offers.
“This exposure can introduce them to the real working world and at the same time help reduce the unemployment rate,” Papparaidu said.
The JobCare Roadshow Carnival, which began on April 19 across nine districts, offers over 40,000 job opportunities, including for disabled persons and ex-convicts.
The carnival covers various sectors, including services, manufacturing, marketing, healthcare, tourism, hospitality, and transportation.
