SHAH ALAM, July 30 — The second day of the Selangor Youth State Assemblyman (ADN Muda) Programme 2025 saw lively debates, with a motion related to education chosen to be brought forward to the Selangor State Legislative Assembly session in November.
Assembly Speaker Lau Weng San said the participants demonstrated strong potential in articulating their arguments and presenting insightful ideas without any political influence.
“Many participants showcased their remarkable talents by speaking confidently and delivering constructive arguments.
“This opportunity is incredibly valuable as it also exposes them to the real processes of policy-making and implementation at the state level,” he said.
Lau was speaking at a press conference after ADN Muda 2025 at the State Secretariat Building yesterday.

He added that during the dinner with Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari on Monday (July 28), the Menteri Besar expressed his full support for the programme.
Amirudin also suggested broadening the scope of participant involvement in ADN Muda by allowing them to take part directly in field programmes alongside state assemblymen or state executive councillors.
Lau noted that all speeches and ideas presented by the ADN Muda participants will be documented and used as references for future state policy development.
This year’s ADN Muda received an encouraging response, with 166 applications submitted by youths under the age of 35, representing an increase in participation to 84 per cent compared to 73 per cent last year.
The programme also made history by receiving participation from a visually impaired individual — the first ever — further demonstrating the initiative's increasingly progressive and inclusive nature.
