SHAH ALAM, June 19 — Selangor has reinforced its status as a rising aerospace hub via strategic engagements with industry giants Singapore Airlines Engineering Company (SIAEC) and Deutsche Aircraft at the Paris Air Show.
Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari said the Selangor delegation’s meeting with SIAEC, a Singaporean firm specialised in aircraft maintenance, repair and overhaul, reaffirmed the state’s commitment to becoming a preferred destination for global industry investors.
“Discussions highlighted the importance of supporting SIAEC’s ongoing investment and Selangor’s role in the growth of the Selangor Aero Park (SAP) @ KLIA Aeropolis,” he said in a post on X yesterday.
“We look forward to unlocking more strategic opportunities through this collaboration.”

Later, Amirudin led a discussion with German commercial aircraft manufacturer Deutsche Aircraft to share Selangor’s strengths and potential in the state’s aerospace ecosystem.
He also welcomed the opportunity for Selangor to contribute to the company’s Do328Eco aircraft programme.
“I am confident in Selangor’s potential to become part of the global supply chain for this aircraft development project, thereby opening up more avenues for strategic collaboration towards a greener and more sustainable industry.
“The participation of Deutsche Aircraft in events such as the (upcoming) Selangor Aerospace Summit is also hoped to further strengthen Selangor’s international aerospace industry network,” he said.
Amirudin is leading a Selangor delegation to the Paris Air Show, which runs until June 22.
The event also saw the international launch of the SAP, a 600-acre aerospace industrial zone located in the KLIA Aeropolis, with a potential gross development value of RM2.3 billion.
Selangor accounts for 68 per cent of the country’s aerospace economic activity, and aims to increase that share to 73 per cent by 2030.
