SEPANG, June 5 — The Selangor Aero Park’s (SAP) multi-modal connectivity is set to boost Malaysia’s position in the global aviation value chain, said Transport Minister Anthony Loke.
He said the integration of air, land, and sea transport, as modelled by the SAP, will enhance efficiency and give exporters and manufacturers a competitive edge in the region.
The development will serve as a launchpad for innovation and high-impact investments, reinforcing Malaysia’s role as a key player in the rapidly evolving aerospace and logistics sectors.
“As global trade routes evolve and regional economic integration deepens, we know that logistics is no longer just a support system. It is a strategic asset.
“And the SAP will be the heartbeat of that asset, where air, land, and sea move in concert to power industrial growth and economic resilience,” Loke said in his speech during the SAP’s groundbreaking ceremony at KLIA Aeropolis today.
The project is developed jointly by Malaysia Airports Holdings Bhd (MAHB) and Menteri Besar Selangor (Incorporated) or MBI.

The park is expected to attract high-impact investments across the aerospace supply chain, including precision engineering, advanced manufacturing and integrated logistics services, while serving as a hub for innovation, talent development, and technology transfer.
The minister added that the industries anchored at the SAP — ranging from advanced manufacturing and aerospace to precision engineering and green technologies — are not only export-driven but also rich in opportunity, serving as engines for innovation, skills transfer, and research and development.
“These are industries that create meaningful work, attract global capital, and most importantly, offer our youths a future grounded in skills, not just labour.
“The SAP was built with that future in mind. Smart infrastructure, digital connectivity, and trade facilitation, all supported by Federal and state alignment. This is how we set ourselves apart,” he said.
The SAP is part of the Malaysian Aerospace Industry Blueprint 2030’s vision to generate RM55.2 billion in annual aerospace revenue.
Spanning approximately 600 acres within KLIA Aeropolis, the park has a potential gross development value (GDV) of RM2.3 billion.
The location also benefits from easy connection to Port Klang, further strengthening its multi-modal logistics proposition.
