SHAH ALAM, May 20 — Selangor is accelerating its efforts to become Malaysia’s leading aerospace hub with new infrastructure projects and strategic partnerships aimed at boosting investment, job creation, and industrial capability, said state executive councillor for investment, trade, and mobility Ng Sze Han.
According to a statement by his office, the state government is finalising deals with major aerospace companies to serve as strategic partners to state-linked enterprises.
He said the move is part of Selangor’s plan to transition into a high-income economy by leveraging advanced technology sectors.
“Aerospace is a key pillar in our strategy. These partnerships are not just about capital inflow,
“They are about building a skilled workforce, strengthening industrial capabilities, and reinforcing Selangor’s competitiveness in global supply chains,” Ng said during the Langkawi International Maritime and Aerospace Exhibition’s (LIMA’25) MyAero Forum at the Mahsuri International Exhibition Centre in Langkawi, Kedah, today.
Set to launch next month, the Selangor Aero Park in Sepang, a joint effort with Malaysia Airports Holdings Berhad (MAHB), will serve as a hub for aerospace manufacturing, maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) services, and systems design, targeting both domestic and international investors.
Meanwhile, Permodalan Negeri Selangor Berhad (PNSB) also signed a joint development agreement with Impeccable Vintage Properties Sdn Bhd, a Khazanah Nasional subsidiary, to develop a 15-acre MRO-focused site in Zone Three of the Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah Airport in Subang.
The councillor said these developments mark a critical step forward in building Selangor’s aerospace ecosystem, which will span three strategic locations: Sepang, Subang, and Serendah.
“This collaboration is a testament to our strong commitment to positioning Selangor and Malaysia as a regional aerospace powerhouse,” he said.
Ng added that the focus is not only on attracting capital but also on cultivating a skilled workforce and integrating Selangor more thoroughly into global supply chains.
