JOHOR BAHRU, March 28 — The number of flood evacuees in Johor dropped to 236 as of 6pm today from 270 this morning following the closure of a relief centre.
State Disaster Management Committee (JPBN) chairman Tan Sri Azmi Rohani said 34 people from eight families sheltering at SK Sri Comel in Batu Pahat had been allowed to return home after the situation was deemed safe.
“All 72 affected families are still being housed at SMK Seri Gading in the same district,” he said in a statement today.
Meanwhile, the water level at the Sungai Senggarang station in Senggarang, Batu Pahat, had exceeded the warning level, reaching 3.27 metres.
Azmi said Johor Bahru, Mersing, Kota Tinggi, and Kulai were forecast to have cloudy skies, while six other districts in the state were expected to have clear skies this evening.
