KUALA LUMPUR, April 18 — The total number of flood victims housed at temporary relief centres (PPS) in Johor and Sabah remains unchanged at 192 as of this evening.
In Johor, 37 individuals from 11 families are still taking shelter at a PPS in Balai Raya Kampung Batu Badak in Segamat, as of 4pm today.
State Disaster Management Committee (JPBN) chairman Tan Sri Dr Azmi Rohani said the affected areas remain Kampung Seberang Batu Badak and Kampung Batu 5, Jalan Muar.
“Two rivers have exceeded warning levels — Sungai Sedili Kecil at the Sedili Kecil station in Kota Tinggi recorded a water level of 2.13 metres, while Sungai Muar at Buloh Kasap in Segamat recorded 8.64 metres,” he said in a statement.
In Sabah, the state JPBN Secretariat reported that 155 victims from 54 families are still seeking shelter at the permanent relief centre in Selagon, Beaufort.
“Six villages in Beaufort remain affected by the floods, with no change in the number of evacuees,” it said.
