SHAH ALAM, Feb 25 — The rebranded Selangor Aerospace Summit (SAS), formerly the Selangor Aviation Show, will move to an indoor format as part of the annual Selangor International Business Summit (SIBS) 2025.

State executive councillor for investment, trade, and mobility Ng Sze Han said the air show, first introduced in November 2021, will adopt a conference-style format, focusing on general and business aviation with an emphasis on maintenance, repair, and operations.

“The new format means SAS this year will no longer feature static aircraft displays. Instead, the focus will be on trade attendees and driving the growth of the aerospace sector in the state,” he said during the SIBS 2025 press launch event at the State Secretariat Building today.

The summit will also feature discussions on industry talent needs and new initiatives, including the development of sustainable aviation fuel.

In previous years, SAS was held at the SkyPark Regional Aviation Centre in Subang with an open-air concept designed to showcase a variety of aircraft in their operational environment.

The air show featured static displays on the tarmac, allowing visitors to explore different aircraft models, ranging from private jets to helicopters and unmanned aerial vehicles.

Ng said that besides conferences, Selangor will host job fairs for the aerospace and semiconductor sectors as part of SIBS 2025.

Last year, SAS 2024 recorded a total transaction value of RM3.2 billion and attracted close to 30,000 visitors over three days.

This year’s event will take place along with SIBS 2025, which will be held from October 8 to October 11 at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre.

Meanwhile, the councillor clarified that the much-anticipated Selangor Aero Park (SAP) has not been relocated from its original site, but has instead been slightly repositioned closer to the Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) Aeropolis.

“The key priority remains ensuring that SAP has direct access to the runway,” he said.

This comes after Ng briefly touched on the SAP development yesterday at the State Legislative Assembly, saying that the aeropark will be built within the KLIA Aeropolis.
