SHAH ALAM, Feb 25 — The Selangor International Business Summit (SIBS) 2025 will feature two new events, expanding the state administration’s efforts in aerospace and semiconductors.
State executive councillor for investment, trade, and mobility Ng Sze Han said the annual trade event will highlight Selangor’s economic strength as the gateway to Asean, aligning with Malaysia’s Asean chairmanship this year.

The state government is setting a goal of RM10 billion in transactions, 50,000 visitors, and over 700 exhibition booths.
“As a key part of the Asean Summit, SIBS 2025 underscores Selangor’s status as the Gateway to Asean, boosting business engagement, investment opportunities, and regional trade collaborations.
“We invite global investors and industry leaders to capitalise on the opportunities offered by this summit,” he said during the SIBS 2025 press launch at the State Secretariat Building today.
This year’s summit will introduce the Selangor International Care Economy Summit and the rebranded Selangor Aerospace Summit (SAS), previously the Selangor Aviation Show.
He said the revamped SAS will shift to an indoor expo and conference format, focusing on the aerospace sector in commercial, general and business aviation, without a static aircraft display.
Meanwhile, state executive councillor for women empowerment and social welfare Anfaal Saari, who was also present at the event, said the Care Economy Summit will bring together key stakeholders, researchers, and academics to discuss the industry’s future direction.

“The summit follows the launch of the state’s Care Economy Policy last November. From there, we developed the idea of gathering caregivers, industry players, and academics under one platform,” she said, referring to the Selangor Care Economy Policy (DEPNS) (2024-2030) document, published on November 27, 2024.
“We will engage with more strategic partners as we establish this convention and bring in more participants from the care industry,” Anfaal added.
SIBS 2025 will take place from October 8 to October 11 at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre.
Apart from the two new events, SIBS will continue to feature its four core sub-conferences, namely the Selangor International F&B Expo, the Selangor Investment and Industrial Park Expo, the Selangor Asean Business Conference, and the Selangor Smart City and Digital Economy Convention.
Last year, SIBS 2024 recorded RM13.86 billion in potential transaction value across two series, more than double 2023’s figure of RM6.12 billion.
The summit, held over two parts for the first time, attracted 52,845 visitors and featured 664 exhibitors across 994 booths. It also saw the signing of 82 memoranda of understanding.
