SHAH ALAM, Feb 11 — The state government has strengthened its strategic partnership with Turkiye in smart cities, traffic systems, and security, as part of efforts to accelerate Selangor's digital transformation.
This was accomplished via the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) between Menteri Besar Dato' Seri Amirudin Shari via Selangor Aviation and Technology Innovations Sdn Bhd and Turkiye’s Defence Industries Secretariat Prof Haluk Görgün.
The signing was witnessed by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.
The delegations of both leaders met earlier today at the Perdana Putra Complex in Putrajaya, where Anwar and Erdoğan also witnessed the signing of 10 other MoUs.
Erdoğan is in Malaysia for a two-day official visit starting yesterday, accompanied by First Lady Emine Erdoğan, at Anwar's invitation.
This partnership is expected to strengthen economic, technological, and security ties between Malaysia and Turkiye, further contributing to Selangor’s development as an advanced and smart state.
