SHAH ALAM, Dec 19 — Selangor has channelled RM26.5 mln this year for infrastructure repairs at 825 schools, towards building an environment conducive to learning.

“This is an annual programme. Overall, we have distributed RM26.5 million this year… There were some delays as we changed several components, but those issues were resolved.
“Next year, we will expedite aid delivery to (as early as) June or July to schools,” he said after the Selangor School Aid Programme 2024 handover ceremony today.

Amirudin added that for next year, aid requests are set to open on January 15 to allow schools to apply as early as possible.
“In coming years, we will also look into aid that is not just for physical development, but also the development of teaching and learning for children,” he said.
Meanwhile, Maahad Tahfiz Annur Al Islami teacher Nur Nikmah Nur Hamim said the aid will be used by her school to build a badminton court.
“Our students have to use the badminton court at a nearby surau, so with this aid, we will try to fill that need.”
Amirudin when tabling the 2025 Selangor State Budget announced the Selangor School Aid Programme will be continued next year with an allocation of RM26.5 million.
The programme gives schools statewide financial aid to repair and upgrade their infrastructure.
