SHAH ALAM, Dec 20 — The state government has channelled over RM285 million since 2009 for the upgrading of school facilities statewide.
Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari said the administration aims to create an environment conducive to teaching and learning through the Selangor School Aid Programme.
“The state must be centred on education. Education must be the centre of foundations from self-identity to implemented development.
“No matter whether the development is in sports, culture or economy, or human capital, education must be the core,” said Amirudin at the Selangor School Aid Programme handover ceremony yesterday.

He said the funds were channelled comprehensively to all types of schools.
“The aspect of justice and fairness must be incorporated through education so all parties can be assisted.
“That is what drives me as Menteri Besar to assume the responsibility of the state-level education portfolio, looking at education not only from the aspects of (students’) time in school, but lifelong education,” he said.
Selangor has channelled RM26.5 mln this year for infrastructure repairs at 825 schools, towards building an environment conducive to learning.
Amirudin, when tabling the 2025 Selangor State Budget, announced the Selangor School Aid Programme will be continued next year with an allocation of RM26.5 million.
The programme gives schools statewide financial aid to repair and upgrade their infrastructure.
