SHAH ALAM, Nov 29 — Six more companies owned by Menteri Besar Selangor (Incorporated) or MBI, have implemented an Organisational Anti-Corruption Plan (OACP) to strengthen a culture of integrity within the agency.

MBI group chief executive officer Saipolyazan M Yusop said this brings the total to 12 MBI-owned companies which have since adopted the OACP.

“So far, 12 companies have implemented the OACP. Six were completed last year, and another six this year. We will gradually extend this until all subsidiaries have their own OACP as a defence layer to prevent any corrupt practices.

“This ensures that employees understand and refrain from engaging in corruption or any related activities,” he said after the launch of the OACP for MBI-owned companies, officiated by state executive councillor for local government, tourism, and New Village development Dato' Ng Suee Lim today.

Saipolyazan added that MBI is committed to fostering a culture of integrity, not only within itself but also across its subsidiaries.

“MBI employees and those in its subsidiaries must continue to uphold a strong sense of integrity so that every task we undertake yields excellent results and reflects a positive image for the people of Selangor,” he said.

Meanwhile, Ng said implementing the OACP has been integrated into the First Selangor Plan, focusing on governance projects or initiatives to enhance the overall integrity of state departments and agencies.

“RS-1 is designed to address the state's short-term needs while building robust resilience for the future, paving the way toward achieving the aspirations of a smart, liveable, and prosperous state by 2025.

“However, these aspirations can be undermined if there is no emphasis on good governance and accountability. Strong governance can facilitate efficient, transparent, and trustworthy state management,” he said.
