SHAH ALAM, Oct 7 — Universiti Selangor (Unisel) has been recognised for its listing in the Malaysian Technical University Network (MTUN).
Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi said this inclusion expands Unisel's role in the field of Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET), thereby opening up more learning opportunities for local students.
“This will add value to Unisel. InsyaAllah, more technical and professional students will enrol at Unisel. The National TVET Council will provide full support to Unisel as part of MTUN,” he said.
Zahid was speaking during the closing ceremony of the Malaysia Madani Open Day Tour, Unisel Depani, and the Bagan Datuk Kelapa Festival 2024 at Waterfront Bagan Datuk in Perak yesterday.
Also in attendance was Unisel’s President and Vice-Chancellor, Prof Datuk Mohammad Redzuan Othman.
Meanwhile, Unisel’s corporate communications director Hasril Abu Hassan said the tour is part of efforts to build a high-quality society through education, in line with its status as a higher education institution wholly owned by the Selangor state government.
The community programmes also shape students into competent individuals while strengthening their soft skills.
“The tour in Bagan Datuk is a continuation of the tour held from October 21 to October 23 at Pantai Batu Laut, Tanjong Sepat, and at Tanjong Karang from June 28 to June 30 this year," he said.
