KUALA LUMPUR, July 26 — Government-owned company Cyberview Sdn Bhd has inked a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with state government agencies today to explore high-value investment opportunities.
The state agencies involved are Permodalan Negeri Selangor Bhd (PNSB) and the Selangor Information Technology Digital Economy Corporation (Sidec).
According to the state executive councillor for investment, trade, and mobility Ng Sze Han, the MoU between PNSB and Cyberview will explore the potential collaboration in high-value investment in the technology sector and its supporting ecosystem in Cyberjaya and Selangor.
Meanwhile, the exchange between Sidec and Cyberview focuses on collaborative opportunities for investment, industry, and ecosystem, especially on the IC Design Park Phase 2 in Cyberjaya.
“This is because the existing IC design park, set to launch in August, is already at full capacity.
“Therefore, it is the time for us (the state government) to plan and identify a suitable location for IC Design Park 2,” he told Selangor Journal after the ceremony at the first series of the Selangor International Business Summit (SIBS) 2024 today.
Ng described the MOU as a positive indication of Selangor's thriving economy, especially in high-impact sectors like semiconductors, where there has been significant interest, particularly in the IC design area.

Meanwhile, the Sepang Municipal Council (MPS) and Cyberview’s subsidiary, Pendinginan Megajana Sdn Bhd, the sole provider of district cooling services in Cyberjaya, held a letter of award ceremony for the latter's supply of chilled water for the air-conditioning systems at the MPS’ new tower building.
Cyberview also signed an MOU with Equinix Malaysia, aiming to acquire land under Cyberview that will serve as a strategic complement to Equinix’s existing KL1 data centre in Cyberjaya.
The newly acquired land, totalling 14,300 square metres, will enable Equinix to further enhance its ecosystem in Malaysia and cater to a wide range of network and cloud service providers and enterprises spanning various industries.
At the same event, a sales and purchase agreement was signed between Chinese firm Xinbo New Materials Sdn Bhd and UMW Development Sdn Bhd.
Xinbo, which specialises in the research, development, production, and sales of high-performance aluminium alloy profile products, has purchased 38.08 acres of industrial land in Precinct 5B Northern Zone of the UMW High-Value Manufacturing Park, with US$70 million (approximately RM325.9 million) in total investment value.
“This reflects the Selangor government’s commitment to developing a comprehensive ecosystem for all industries we attract to the state,” said the councillor.
