SHAH ALAM, April 3 — Sultan of Selangor Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah Alhaj today attended a breaking of fast ceremony with the people at Masjid Diraja Tengku Ampuan Jemaah, Bukit Jelutong, here.
His Royal Highness was accompanied by Tengku Permaisuri of Selangor Tengku Permaisuri Norashikin and Raja Muda of Selangor Tengku Amir
Also present were Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim and Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari.
During the programme, Sultan Sharafuddin distributed Hari Raya Aidilfitri aid to 489 asnaf (tithe recipients) residing in the district of Petaling, involving a total fund of RM244,500.
His Royal Highness also accepted business tithe payment from Sime Darby Property Bhd and CelcomDigi Bhd amounting to RM2 million and RM1.36 million respectively.
After breaking fast, the Selangor Ruler performed Maghrib, Isha and Taraweeh prayers together with the people.
