SHAH ALAM, March 10 — Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari has reminded Selangor civil servants to work together as a team to ensure the efficient execution of state initiatives and policies.
The Menteri Besar said this is important as the plans that have been developed within the state administration must be carried out as a group rather than being sought for personal fulfilment alone.
“InsyaAllah (God willing), after Aidilfitri, I will personally hold meetings with all tiers of civil officials to make sure they understand state policies. We do not want actions taken individually. Instead, we take the views of a group or team.
“We also cannot simply launch initiatives on our own and dismantle all the frameworks established to satisfy individual needs or desires,” said Amirudin at the launch of the 2023 Excellent Service Award (APC) and the 2024 Service Appreciation Award (AJD)of the State Secretariat Office at the Mardhiyyah and Suites Hotel, here last night.
Amirudin said to continue the pace of excellence, the spirit of teamwork among civil servants must continue.
“If department heads have different views, we can still discuss without sabotaging or disclosing confidential matters to unrelated parties.
“This would only cause failure of the entire planned framework, leaving an impact today or in the future,” he said.
Earlier, Amirudin, alongside state secretary Dato’ Haris Kasim, presented the APC award to 149 state civil servants, while 37 retirees received the AJD.
In his speech, Amirudin congratulated the recipients and expressed hope that the recognition would spur them on to greater achievement in the future.
He emphasised the critical role of the State Secretariat Office (PSUK) in state governance and administration, highlighting the significance of establishing model standards of professionalism and management.
“PSUK should serve as a model for other state departments and agencies by upholding the highest standards of professionalism and administration.
“But as we work towards our goals, let’s not lose sight of the importance of integrity, credibility, and charisma in upholding the images of Selangor state employees.
“It is essential to make sure that each action taken impacts the organisation and reflects on each individual,” he added.
