SHAH ALAM, Feb 12 — A total of 124 Selangor civil servants received the Excellent Service Award (APC), while 34 retirees and soon-to-be retirees were presented with the Jasamu Dikenang Award (AJD).
All awards were presented by Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari at the Excellent Service Awards ceremony held here tonight.
In his speech, Amirudin said recipients were evaluated not only on individual achievements but also on professionalism, discipline and efficiency in carrying out their duties.
“The efficiency of the civil service is the backbone of the state’s success. Competitive, innovative and high-integrity civil servants are vital assets in ensuring the state’s agenda is implemented.
“Civil servants are the direct and indirect link between the government and the people of Selangor, especially in conveying policies and addressing arising issues.
“Without civil servants, policies announced by the government and programmes implemented would not be realised. They would remain merely on paper — something to be proud of, but never reaching the grassroots,” he said.

Also present were state secretary Dato’ Dr Ahmad Fadzli Ahmad Tajuddin and state financial officer Dato’ Dr Haniff Zainal Abidin.
At the same time, Amirudin urged civil servants to continue enhancing their competitiveness and to carry out their responsibilities diligently to ensure the smooth implementation of the state’s development agenda.
“Let us move forward this year by working harder to ensure the state’s achievements remain outstanding.
“This year, we need to work even harder with the organisation of various programmes, including the Malaysia Games (SUKMA). We want to excel not only in performance but also as good hosts,” he said.
