KUALA LANGAT, Feb 1 — Visitors to the beach around Morib constituency are reminded to keep the surrounding areas clean after picnicking.

Its assemblyman Hasnul Baharuddin said the public should be more responsible and not leave garbage behind.

“We should raise awareness on the importance of maintaining cleanliness. Morib is one of Selangor’s tourist attraction areas because of its beaches, so, let’s take care of it together.

“Don’t expect only the local authorities to clean the area, we also need to help out together,” he said.

Earlier, Hasnul witnessed the launch of two modern beach cleaning machines and the handing over of trash bins to the Kuala Langat Municipal Council (MPKL) at Pantai Baru Morib, here yesterday.

The two machines, 'walk beach comber' and 'glutton electric little picker', will be used by KDEB Waste Management (KDEBWM) to clean Pantai Morib and Pantai Baru Morib.

"With the new beach cleaning machinery used in this coastal area, the cleaning work will be faster and more systematic, but cooperation from the community is also important to maintain cleanliness together," he said.

The initiative is a pilot project between KDEBWM and MPKL towards increasing the efficiency and productivity of beach cleaning in the area.
