SHAH ALAM, July 30 — State assemblymen have welcomed the essence of the First Selangor Plan (RS-1), expressing hope that everything can be realised without marginalising any groups.

Bukit Melawati state assemblyman Juwairiya Zulkifli said she hopes RS-1 will empower women when it comes to gender equality and in the employment sector.
"I suggest the state government formulate a long-term action plan by aiming for a certain number of women to be involved in decision-making," she said.
On his part, Kota Anggerik state assemblyman Najwan Halimi said RS-1, the state's development framework, needs to include all stakeholders to work together in order to make it a success.

"The success that is to be achieved should not focus solely on economic and physical progress, but should also move in tandem with cultural developments and democratic empowerment.
"In order to realise all of these plans, the work and implementation methodology must be given full attention and focus," he said.
Bandar Utama state assemblyman Jamaliah Jamaluddin said Selangor is the first state to present a five-year plan, which is regarded as being quite comprehensive.

"The most important thing is for the state government to have efficient data and information-collection, including research, to ensure RS-1 can be implemented well," she said.
On Wednesday (July 27), Menteri Besar Dato' Seri Amirudin Shari presented RS-1 which is Selangor's five-years development framework, with a total value of RM212.44 billion.
He said a total of RM92.44 billion will be channelled to state-level development projects, including the implementation of several incentives, to ensure the people’ welfare.
Amirudin explained the state government will release RM7.16 billion in funds, whereas the excess RM80 billion in balance will be financed by subsidiaries and the private sector.
