Water supply restored by 46 pct in affected KL areas — Air Selangor

SHAH ALAM, March 11 — Water supply in 13 areas in Kuala Lumpur that was disrupted following a burst pipe in Jalan Kuari, Kg Cheras Baru, has been restored by 46 per cent as of 3pm today.

Pengurusan Air Selangor Sdn Bhd (Air Selangor) in a statement said the water supply recovery period differs from one area to another according to the location and distance of consumers’ premise.

“Water supply in all affected areas is expected to fully recover at 4am, March 12,” it said on Facebook.

It said alternative assistance through water tankers have been mobilised to the affected areas, with priority given to critical premises during the unscheduled water supply disruption.

“Air Selangor would like to advise consumers who have received their water supply to let the tap run until the water is clear before using it for daily consumption,” it said.

Yesterday, Air Selangor announced that a burst pipe incident has occurred at Jalan Kuari, Kampung Cheras Baru, at 8.45pm, and repair work was completed at 4:15am today.

The incident caused unscheduled water disruption in Taman Muda, Taman Bukit Permai, Taman Bukit Pandan, Kampung Cheras Baru, Taman Mawar, Taman Seraya, Taman Mega, Taman Bukit Teratai, Taman Melur, Taman Saga, Taman Putra, Taman Mewah and Taman Mestika.
