KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 9 — Four more players have been called up to join the national squad's centralised training camp for the 2022 Asean Football Federation (AFF) Under 23 (U-23) Championship in Phnom Penh, Cambodia from February 14 to 26.
The Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) in a post on their Facebook today said they are goalkeeper Sikh Izhan Nazrel Sikh Azman and defenders Ahmad Zikri Mohd Khalili, Muhammad Azrin Afiq Rusmini and Harith Haiqal Adam Afkar.
All the four who are from Selangor FC reported for the centralised training last night and were instrumental in helping the country qualify for the final round of the U-23 Asian Cup 2022 after Malaysia topped the group stage qualifying round in Mongolia, last October.
Malaysia who is in Group B will start their campaign against Myanmar at the Prince Stadium on February 15.
Head coach Brad Maloney's charges will then meet Laos on February 18 at the same venue before completing the group stage against Indonesia at the Morodok Techo National Stadium on Feb 21.
The three group champions and best group runner-up will advance to the semi-finals on February 24 while the final is scheduled for February 26.
