SHAH ALAM, Jan 28 — The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) has issued thunderstorms, heavy rain and strong wind warning to several areas in Selangor for this evening.
In a Facebook post, MetMalaysia said the bad weather is expected to occur in Hulu Selangor, Gombak, Petaling, Kuala Langat, Hulu Langat, and Sepang.
The agency also forecasted similar situations for Kuala Lumpur Federal Territory, Putrajaya Federal Territory, Negeri Sembilan, and Perak.
The warning was issued at 3.05pm today, with the rains and thunderstorms expected to last until 6pm on the same day.
“The warning was issued when there are signs of thunderstorms with rainfall intensity exceeding 20mm/hour, which are expected to occur over the one-hour duration.
“Thunderstorms warning is a short-term warning, which is valid within six hours after it was issued,” said MetMalaysia.
