KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 26 — The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) has issued a warning for thunderstorms, heavy rain, and strong winds in several areas across the country, except Sarawak, until 5pm today.
The adverse weather is expected to affect the whole of Perlis and Penang.
In Kedah, affected areas include Langkawi, Kubang Pasu, Kota Setar, Yan, Kuala Muda, Baling, Kulim, and Bandar Baharu; in Perak, they include Kerian, Larut, Matang and Selama, Kuala Kangsar, Manjung, Perak Tengah, Bagan Datuk, and Hilir Perak.
The warning also covers Jeli, Tanah Merah, Machang, Pasir Puteh, and Kuala Krai in Kelantan, as well as Besut, Hulu Terengganu, and Dungun in Terengganu.
In Pahang, the areas involved are Cameron Highlands, Lipis, Raub, and Bentong, while in Selangor, the warning covers Sabak Bernam, Kuala Selangor, and Klang.
In Negeri Sembilan, the affected areas are Seremban, Port Dickson, Rembau, and Kuala Pilah, while in Johor, they are Tangkak, Muar, Batu Pahat, and Mersing.
In Sabah, the warning covers Sandakan (Kinabatangan, Paitan, and Sandakan), Tawau (Lahad Datu, and Kunak), the West Coast, the Interior (Membakut, Tambunan, Keningau, Sipitang, Beaufort, and Tenom), and Kudat (Kota Marudu).
