SHAH ALAM, July 24 — Sabak Bernam District Council (MDSB) has denied rumours that there are 60 Covid-19 positive cases linked to the Pasar Awam Sungai Besar.

Its president Azman Dahlan said the allegation that there is a Covid-19 cluster in the public market on social media and WhatsApp was not true.

Therefore, he reminded the public not to make false statements that brought problems, concerns and fears to the people, including visitors to the market, and especially to traders at the public market.

"You are also reminded not to share unconfirmed information because it can create various misperceptions to the public," he said in a statement today.

Checks by Selangorkini found a Facebook account owner using the name Puan Ziema Rasman had uploaded a status claiming a lack of customers since the fake news was spread by irresponsible parties.

“On Saturday, it has never been like this (quiet) where is the individual who spread the news of Pasar Awam Sungai Besar having 60 (Covid-19) positive people?

“Please come to buy my vegetables, it is not enough to cover my cost, is it fun to see other people suffering? Just because of a person’s (foul) mouth, all the market traders suffers,” she said.
