SHAH ALAM, Nov 14 — New Covid-19 infections in Selangor today has slightly dropped to 200 cases from yesterday’s 364, out of the country’s daily recorded cases of 1,114.

Out of the total infections recorded in the state, one case was an imported case.

The Health director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah in a statement today said Sabah saw the highest number of new cases with 391 infections, followed by Negeri Sembilan with 371 cases.

“Out of the 199 local transmissions, 135 were from existing clusters, 28 from close contact screenings and 36 others were detected from other Covid-19 screenings,” the statement read.

Data compiled by the National Crisis Preparedness and Response Centre (CPRC) showed that the Klang district topped the list with 97 new cases followed by Hulu Langat (52), Petaling (25), Sepang (14), Gombak (7), Kuala Langat (2), and Kuala Selangor and Hulu Selangor with one case each.

Sabak Bernam has zero cases and is the only green zone in Selangor.

Meanwhile, a total of 209 new recoveries were registered today, out of the total 803 patients discharged from hospital.

This makes Selangor the second-highest state with recovered Covid-19 patients after Sabah (358).

Two deaths were reported today, bringing the death toll to 306, or a 0.7 per cent fatality rate. No deaths were reported in Selangor.

The cumulative number of cases in Selangor currently stands at 7,439 with 1,788 active Covid-19 cases.

As of noon today, the country saw an accumulated total of 46,209 cases, with 33,772 recovered cases (recovery rate of 73.1 per cent).
