Inspections of premises ongoing, licences revoked if failure to comply with SOP

SHAH ALAM, Oct 5 — The local authorities in Selangor will continue to inspect all business premises following the triple-digit positive Covid-19 cases recorded the past few days.

State Local Government, Public Transportation and New Village Development Executive Councillor Ng Sze Han said stern action will be taken against any premises that failed to comply with the prescribed standard operating procedures (SOP), which include revoking of (business) licences.

“We already have a thorough SOP to be followed, what’s crucial now is inspection, which will continue on.

“Stern action would include revoking business licences if business operators fail to adhere to the SOPs,” said Ng Sze Han when contacted.

Previously, the state government had allowed all business premises to reopen during the recovery movement control order (RMCO) period and had even permitted eateries to extend its operations until 2am.

However, beginning October 3, the state administration had ordered restaurants with pubs to limit its operating hours until 11pm in efforts to curb the spread of Covid-19.
