CYBERJAYA, 21 Oct — The combination of safe, smart and low-carbon city elements has been underlined in the Sustainable Development Guidelines@Sepang (GPPMS) as the holistic approach in urban development.
Selangor Menteri Besar Amirudin Shari said GPPMS, which was implemented for the first time at the local council level by the Sepang Municipal Council (MPSepang), said the three elements are important to be put into effect by the authorities.
“If it is successfully implemented it would make Sepang and Cyberjaya districts resilient, comfortable, and safe to live in.
“I believe that the development in the district would be exemplary in terms of fast-growing, progressive while equipped with advanced technology,” he said at the launch of GPPMS and i-Sepang application at the Smart and Low Carbon City Townhall Council @ Cyberjaya, here today.
Also present were MPSepang president Mohd Fauzi Mohd Yatim, Sepang district officer Mohd Yazid Sairi, Dengkil assemblyman Adhif Syan Abdullah, and Sepang Orang Kaya Besar Daerah (district palace representative) Tengku Dato’ Dr Jamaluddin Tengku Mahmud Shah Al Haj.
Meanwhile, Amirudin said the i-Sepang application provides residents under the MPSepang purview more effective and efficient services online.
“MPSepang would provide the latest information as well as services such as bookings, checking, and payment transactions without having to do so over the counter.
“Various information related to MPSepang will be available and this would be a part of the continued initiative to transform Sepang into a smart and sustainable district,” he said.
Earlier, the townhall session had gathered 100 participants from MPSepang and stakeholders, facilitated by the International Green Training Centre (IGTC).
The programme was held to increase awareness of smart city development and low carbon cities.
